A simple question gets a simple answer..

I'm out of contract and I refuse to go to AT&T.

I want the Incredible, and now that its confirmed the 29th I definitely want it.

Since its two weeks earlier, I stumped the sales rep on how we go about signing a contract and saving my "new phone" discount for the Incredible.

She told me the only thing her & her manager could come up with was sign the contract using and old VZW phone.

I don't have an old VZW phone - however, I do have an Altell Touch Pro that is unlocked.

I totally flaked on asking her "Could I just use my unlocked phone?" Seeing as it was on "Verizon" lines before the contract ended (Altell was owned by VZW before contract ended and was using VZW towers.)

.. I have a tendency of going into detail..

So in the end - Can I use my unlocked Touch Pro (CDMA Altell) on Verizon?

I assume the answer is yes, but I don't have a phone to call and ask - and I just came from my VZW store.

I'm almost certain that you can use it on Verizon; I've been using an old Alltel Razr out of contract for about a year now. I don't follow the deal about signing a contract on the old phone, though, and I should probably learn about this ASAP... I always figured that once your 2-year contract ends you can get a NE2 discount at any point in the future, but from what you're saying you have to be in (or at the very end of) a contract for it to apply?

Not a simple question? I'm not sure what your asking actually. If you have an Alltel rate plan you can use an Alltel phone. VZW plan then no. Just don't get what your saving? Use whatever you got until the release activating another phone doesn't get ya anything.
