Help A way to switch Launchers easily?

Gozer28

Newbie
How can I set my default launcher to LauncherPro or froyo, I want to be able to switch between the two and set one of them as the default but be able to change it back, the only app in market atm is homeswitcher but it does not support froyo atm, and from the looks of it, the developer says he cant do it cause of the new api's in froyo.

There's an app called Home Switcher that most people use. However it unfortunately isn't working on froyo yet.

The app tray is still nowhere near as good as the one on Helix. I thought that I would be able to select any app I wanted for the tray but it gives a very limited choice. This also means we get a horrible mish mash of icon styles.

I downloaded and installed adw and can't figure out how to get it to operate. I went into app settings and it says defaults are already cleared..nothing to click on. What am I missing?

Press HOME, and the phone should give you 2 options for the default launcher.....

Launcher 2 (which is the generic 2.2 launcher or ADW).

Once you clear the defaults and set Sense back as the default launcher, there is then no way to use Launcher Pro that I can see. (Short of reinstalling it.)

Because Sense is considered the default application, no dialogue box asks you what to use. Launcher Pro does not appear in the Apps list (and neither does Sense), and the option to open it from the Market app is greyed out.

Without Home Switcher, I have no idea what to do.

I don't think you need Home Switcher even tho I am sure it has its place. This is what I did on my Sumsung Galaxy S phone (I am guessing you can do it on other devices as well?!?!) :

1. Go to Menu -> Settings, and choose "Application".
2. Tap on "Manage Appication".
3. Go to Menu -> Filter, and tap on "All".
4. Find in my case the touchwiz launcer "TwLauncher" and tap on it.
5. Choose "Clear defaults" from "Launch by default".
6.Tap on "Home" button and now you will be able to access all the launchers you may have installed (i.e. ADW.Launcher, LauncherPro etc.).
