? about "Keep Awake" bug in ICS.

So apparently there is a bug in ICS that eats up battery life when you use the power button to shut the screen off instead of just letting it time out causing the OS to eat up battery life via "Keep Awake" under battery stats.

So my question is if I use the "Screen Off" widget will I end up with the same problem as I am using the physical power button? Kind of sucks that ICS has this issue. If it wasn't for this I would getting outstanding battery life from my MAXX.

Do you have a link to the bug you are referring to? I almost always use the power button on my Maxx and don't have any issues with my phone being held awake according to GSam.

This could definitely be a possibility, I haven't noticed a big problem, but my battery has certainly not lasted as long as before ICS. Bat stats always show screen as 50-60% and never did on Gingerbread. I've caught a few times where my phone magically awakened by itself, makes me wonder if its more often than I think.

Quite a bit of "questionable" replies (and responses have been removed). As a reminder, we attack and address issues. We do not attack users.

Back on topic... I haven't heard of the issue with the power button but I've heard that some Razrs will randomly max (and hold) their processing speeds. This could be related to what the OP feels he is experiencing.

I have battled Keep Awake issues on other devices/ROMs before which is why I was so confident I am not having it on the RAZR now. The last one was related to Exchange Email keeping the device awake. I would suggest trying GSam from the market to see if you can identify what specifically is keeping your device awake.

I have had issues where I turn off the screen with the power button, but then a few seconds later the screen turns back on as if an alarm is about to go off. This only happened to me while charging when it did. I did a factory reset and as far as I am concerned it took care of it. I thought an app might have been doing it.
