I just wanna ask that if my gps is inaccurate inside my house and accurate on street Is that any problem with my phone gps hardware? When my phone is newly brought inside the house it also show an accurate position but certain times of use it become inaccurate.

Sry for my bad English.Thanks.

Hi, welcome to Android Forums.

For reliable GPS results, the ideal place is outside with a clear view of the sky, so it is not unusual for accuracy to worsen inside a building or even in a narrow street with tall buildings.

The satellite signal strength is reduced considerably by solid objects eg brick/stone wall, slate/tile roof, but will pass through glass and clear material such as conservatory roofs ok, and you can improve the accuracy by trying various points around your home. My HTC One will give me a steady 3.0 metre accuracy in my conservatory but move into the adjacent lounge area and it varies between 15 and 20 metres.

What you are seeing is quite normal and nothing to worry about.

:)

Thanks. But my sister's iPhone is show a exactly place when i test it with same corner of my house is that iPhone have a better GPS system?

Hi, welcome aboard!!:)

All I can say is that no two devices are the same. In the house, my HTC Desire struggles to lock on to the satellites at all, yet outside both devices have no problem at all in locking on, giving a good location and good navigation.

As long as your Samsung gives an accurate location outside or in the car and you are able to successfully navigate with it I really wouldn't worry too much about how it compares with the iphone or any other device.

Hope this helps :)
