Accept a VCF file? Import it?

Another day, another Android feature missing it seems. Someone has just sent me a VCF file with their contact details. I can open it - it opens up as plain text which is not very useful.

(a) How can I get this into my contacts?

(b) Can I send my own VCF back?

I don't know if this is possible via the phone but If you log on to http://www.google.com/contacts using the same Google account as on your phone -> select "import" on the top right -> then simply select the .vcf and when complete the contacts should be automatically synced to your phone :)

Great - so something else I can't do on Android that every other phone seems to be able to manage without a problem.

And it would appear that I can only send as an MMS as well, not as an email attachment.

Their is possibly an app for it, anyone have any suggestions? :)

If you can download and save the file, use a free app off the market called "astro file manager" then use it to navigate to the file which you can then select and send as an attachment in an email.

If you report this .vcf file problem to http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/list we may see this improved on in future Android editions :)
