Access to photos on SD card

Hello again

I can see a large number of photos on my SD card. They can be listed in the Android file system, but whenever I try to view anything the phone just 'freezes.

Also I have tried viewing the photos on my desktop PC (via an SD card adaptor) but this is also unsuccessful.

Is this a fragmentation problem or something similar? Are there any resolutions that anyone is aware of?

Again, any responses are appreciated.

:)

Hi Heathwood99,

How many image files are we talking about here? If it's many thousands, it could be that the gallery or image viewer app is just having a hard time loading all of the needed thumbnails in memory. You may want to try an alternate viewer like QuickPic to see if it helps.

Did the problem come on suddenly? Or have you been dealing with this for a while now?

Thanks Codesplice.

There aren't hundreds, probably about 50 or so.

I will have a go with the app you suggested and let you know how I get on,

In that case, Luna is quite likely right; you may have a failing SD card or, at the least, corrupted image files. :(

Time to upgrade phone I think.

End of contract in October, might persuade TalkTalk to wind things up early.

Many thanks guys.
