Accidental Conference call?!

Ok so what happens if you are on a call and hit "add call" but it was done by accident? Will the 2nd number still be dialed? What if I do not hit "merge calls" will the 2nd number eventually hang up? Will I get a message on my phone? Yesterday I was on a call and after a few minutes heard some strange message about call not completed and couldn't hear my first caller. Then she came back on and we kept talking. After another few minutes I looked down and it looked like I was on the phone with someone else...did I accidentally patch in the other person without either of us knowing? Would call log still log the 2nde accidental call? Wouldn't I have to do a few steps in order to have merged the calls? It would have been on this 2nd person's voice mail...let me know, I am concerned!!!! ps I got my phone back in Oct 2010.

As long as you dont type in a number and hit send, nothing.

No it will stay on the line until YOU or the OTHER caller hang up.

Will I get a message on my phone?

A text message? No. But your phone will say "3-way call in progress" or something like that.

Would call log still log the 2nde accidental call?

If it was made, yes.

Wouldn't I have to do a few steps in order to have merged the calls?

Yes.

And FYI, ALL of this is in the instruction manual for your phone...

Mmm...well, it appeared that I did make the call as it is in my call log. But we (me or other person on phone) never heard the call ring or voice mail pick up. But when we were talking it appeared other caller was patched in. I don't know, I am confused. Is this something I could have done all with my face while talking on the phone?!

If the phone was close enough to your face, the proximity sensor will turn the screen off so you dont accidently hit buttons. If it doesnt turn off, it could be a problem with the sensor itself.
