Help accidentally formatted sd, recovery question

like the title says, i accidentally formatted my sd card on my S5. i was able to recover most of the pictures but I REALLLLLLY need to recover the documents and pictures i had in private mode. is it even possible to recover them? i have not used the sd card since it was formatted.

Normally, I recommend Dr.Fone for Android for this task. However, since your files are on removable media, you can use any of the Windows-based recovery tools… assuming you have a card reader installed on your computer. If not, well… ther's always Dr.Fone - it's not free, but the scan to see if it can recover files is, and discount codes are only a search away, which can save you up to 50% of the purchase cost. Note that both methods require a pc.

I tried using Dr.fone but I couldn't get it to work. For some reason it kept saying that it couldn't detect my phone. I tried 2 different USB cords and it still wouldn't recognize my phone.

Did you try it with and without USB Debugging enabled in your phone? I forget which way I had to set it, but only one way worked for me.

I followed the instructions to a T. But I'll give it another shot. So far I have recovered everything that was in my gallery, but I have yet to recover anything that was saved in the private folders.
