Accidentally pressed 'force stop' on downloads app! Help!

I accidentally pressed the force stop button on my downloads app when I was trying to fix another error now I can't reverse it! I tried switching the tablet on and off but no good. Have I done permanent damage?Will I be able ever download again. Ahhhh! (Tablet: old nexus 7)
