Accidently got permanent marker on my InvisibleShield today!!

K first of all thank god I had a Invisible shield on the phone in the first place. Anyway there's a smudge of Permanent marker on my Invisible shield. Atm I dont care that it's there but I'm curious as how to remove it. If not maybe I could just use the warranty thing and get a new Invisible shield. Though....I dont know how to remove the one that's on it seeing as it looks locked onto the screen.
 
Just take it back, I got it on my phone and they told me that no matter what just bring in the shield or the phone with the shield on it and they'll replace it.
 
Some advise I have found.
Color over the permanent marker marks with a dry erase marker.Then, wipe the area with a dry rag to remove both the permanent marker and the dry erase marker.Wipe the area down with a wet paper towel to remove any remaining traces of ink--and your item is as good as new.
 
Huh writing over with a dry erase marker doesnt make no sense as only the dry erase marker will be lifted off lol. ANyway it's no big deal.

I'm not sure, but I believe there is a small amount of alcohol in the dry erase ink which can remove permanent marker. Whether there is enough or if it will damage the screen I can't say.
 
Problem with that is they want you to pay for the replacement then they will refund you if they deem it a warranty issue. Just went through that with Zagg for a couple of scratches in the shield, for what a new one costs it is not worth the hassle.
 
Paint thinner will definitely do the job, question is do you want to risk it. Paint thinners can be surprisingly corrosive towards certain materials.

You're right, I was just saying if you didn't have a screen protector, you'd be a cotton swab and some alcohol away from new ;)

How do I clean my invisibleSHIELD after it's been installed?

ZAGGwipes are also a great way to further protect your gadgets, removing oils, dirt and germs from your devices.
In the meantime, you may clean your invisibleSHIELD with any non-alcoholic cleaning solution or LCD spray. If you had any SHIELDspray application solution left from installation, this, too, does a great job.
 
Sharpie ink is soluble in alcohol (methanol or ethanol anyway, I've never tried isopropanol). The ink soaks into some plastics and you can never get it off completely, though. Dunno what alcohol will do to the InvisibleShield, either.
 
Bug spray (Deep Woods Off) removes permanent marker ink quite handily, no idea of it's possible effects on your screen... or phone.

IIRC, ammonia will dissolve perm marker ("Sharpie") marks. adip the corner of a towel.etc in ammonia and scrub (lightly) it off.
 
FWIW, rubbing alcohol has a 10-15% mineral oil content.[
