Accidently wiped internal memory

I accidently wiped my memory and it wasn't backed up. I can 'undelete' these files if I can only attached my phone to the PC as an external drive to read the internal memory.

Is there anyway to do this. At the moment my SGS, when I plug it in, it basically comes up as a mobile device in Windows. I need it to come up as an external device.

Press menu > Settings > Wireless and network > USB settings and select Mass storage. Connect phone to PC then tap Connect storage to PC.
Windows should now see it as an external drive named " Removable Disk ".

All the best.

Alternatively, if that doesn't work, activate debugging mode. That's in settings -> Applications -> development. Once plugged in, pull notification down and select connect to PC.

Most likely you cant undelete them at all.
But you can try.
You need to have the right driver for the phone and you also most of the time change so it use mass storage and then use debug mode.
Then you will be able to see it in windows.
