So long story here: my fiancé and I had Verizon for two months until we had a really bad experience with faulty phones and they did absolutely nothing to compensate us. So we switched to Sprint along with our numbers.
We like sprint and the unlimited data but the data speeds can be downright slow and we do miss the LTE Verizon offered.

My question is this: is it possible to switch back under her name and will my number still work or would I have to get a new number? **I didn't pay the ETF and the last month for Verizon before we switched**

Also, is switching back worth it? We use a lot of data per month but Sprint's network can be painfully slow. We understand Verizon doesn't offer unlimited data but it *IS* faster and we would be able to use the phones for more movies and stuff. And yes, we're in Verizon's coverage area. Sprint has 4G in our area but it's spotty and can be hit or miss with speeds.

Thanks for any input you all have. I know I asked a lot.

Honestly try T-Mobile if they have good 4G coverage in your area. My co-worker has TMo, and is only like 20% slower than me here in Phoenix, AZ (I get around 30-40Mbps and he gets 25-28) sprint barely gets 5-10 at 4G here

I would recommend switching back to Verizon, not just because I use it or I think T-mobile is inferior, but because Verizon's network is very mature while T-mobile's 4g lte network is in its infancy stage and doesn't have the reliability that Verizon does.

Thank you to both but the other question regarding my account and if I would be able to use my old number again...?

I believe that if you wanted your old number you would have to pay off your bill but I don't know for sure. The only thing I could recommend is to call Verizon and ask, because I don't know for sure. But if your wife opens an account you could port your Sprint phone number

have u thought about another carrier? My only concern would be if you left once due to their customer service, it probably hasn't improved. Also, make sure your not going to be paying overages due to your data usage.

True. We were thinking about that. As of this month my fiancé and I both average about 3gb of data per phone so we're thinking to stick with Sprint due to unlimited data. Guess we'll have to bear with the network towers around us upgrading. It's either dirt slow or stupid fast right now.

Also, regarding Verizon's customer service: we loved them at first. No problems. The only problem we had was when our phones quit working properly and they wouldn't help us. The actual 4G LTE was incredibly good. Shame they lost us :(

I understand. VZW is about to lose me and the wife I think. Love the speeds, but that is the ONLY thing. Poor selection of phones, expensive, etc.

Shame isn't it? I was with Verizon before smartphones came out (had the original razor flip phone!) and even back then it was really pricey. Then I went to other carriers but ultimately went back when I tested out their LTE network. How long have you and your wife had Verizon and are you both under a grandfathered unlimited plan?

Both grandfathered in. Been on the same account with VZW for about the last 6 years. I've also had VZW though. Honestly would prefer to stay with VZW has they do have some good policies and a great network, but possibly the worst selection and highest prices.

A lot of people seem to be clinging to those unlimited plans. I'm just waiting for the day Sprint or T-Mobile stop their unlimited plans :( I hope you and your wife find a suitable carrier and plan. Thank you for the advice and thoughts!
