Help Ace Style has voice-dial, refuses to work. GRRR

It's bad enough that Galaxys will decrease the volume on both the phone and the Bluetooth when you try to voice-dial-out via Bluetooth while driving, but it gets worse: I have a Straight Talk Galaxy Ace Style which I bought new, just as I did with my previous ST phone (Proclaim). Both had the highly-annoying volume-decrease during Bluetooth voice-dialing, but at least the Proclaim's voice-dialing worked. The Ace Style's does not. You can whisper, you can shout, anything in between...in the car, in a quiet room, whatever, it asks you for a dial command, it beeps, you do as it tells you...then it both says and displays "Sorry, didn't catch that". I am considering going right back to my Proclaim and declaring a $150 loss on the Ace. This is pathetic.

The paper and online manuals are of no help, and ST's Customer Support is useless in this matter. Anyone know about this issue and what to do? Thank you.

Now I'm starting to discover that due to the Android 4.3 OS (which I have), many Bluetooth headsets are now obsolete. Is this true? I'm running a Plantronics Explorer 360, and I've had it quite awhile...now starting to understand somewhat, but will going to a newer-model Bluetooth headset make all the difference? Anyone?
