Help Acer BeTouch E400 shuts down on itself while in pocket?

i have this phone for a week now, but there's something annoying, sometimes i put it in my pocket, screen locked etc. when i take it back out, it's turned off..so i need to put it on again, i just don't understand how this can happen cause: battery is always over 30%, screen is locked, 100% certain of that, i even added a pattern lock to it, still occured.

I don't believe the pressure on the phone in my pocket is just enough to press the "off" button twice then pick the option to shut the phone, THEN pick the option YES, so...i don't get it

anyone else with this problem? if anyone has any ideas, please, respond

I have the same problem. I tried to put half of the phone in my pocket, put the phone in my pocket with power button at the hole of pocket but it still occurs. Recently it occurs more. I guess that it infected virus (because I installed many software from Market). Try to update firmware from Acer website or use your warranty.

I have just the phone only for a couple of hours in a span of 2 days. Charged it full too and it has already shut down abruptly 5 times. Strange problem. I suspect it might be the sync features which are causing this.

Also am unable to import contacts from my sim as it shows some process.acore error. Ugly

Anyway will probably return it today for an HTC Desire.

well, the problem solved itself now, it doesn't occur anymore so I'm happy, i put antivirus on it but i don't know if that did the trick

now i'm looking after the stereo fm radio which should be built in =/

That is a strange issue, and even stranger that it resolved itself. I doubt if anti-virus software would do that.
