alright guys.

my laptop i have at home its my older one. I have had this problems for ages now and i put it in the cupboard for a bit for a break from it and i thought now im a member here some one could help me on here,

Thing is the laptop when you turn it on the ACER front screen is very very dark then it goes to blank dark screen stay like this for approx 10 minutes. After this the windows loads up no problem but gets stuck on the 'windows configure failure' reverting back to previous settings and does not move from that screen at all and i have had the computer on for 2 hours now. Cheers guys for the help in advance thank you!

Check the bios for what?? i cant get into bios because its too dark to see any thing?. and i cant format because i cant see the options :)

There is also the chance that the laptop screen's front (back?) light is starting to die, or that the cabling or connection to the light is bad.

When windows loads up and you see that failure screen, is the screen on a full brightness or is it also very dark?

No when the windows boots up its on full brightness nothing wrong with it in that sence, Its just when trying to get into bios or any thing like that its dark,

Then I agree with unnamedny, you need to hook the system up to an external monitor using the VGA connector or to a TV with the HDMI connector, if it has one. Something in the BIOS is telling the screen to run at very low brightness. External monitors/TVs don't have to obey those commands, allowing you to see what's going on.

Reinstalling Windows may not fix the brightness issue, but it should be done anyway to fix the failure error you're recieving.

Before doing that, try going into safe mode. Repeatedly hit the F8 key on bootup until you get a menu. Select "Safe Mode" and see if windows can boot up. If it does, use a flash drive to back up your important pictures, documents, etc. in case they get wiped during the Windows reinstall.

Alright guys problem Solved now, Found out that it was a hardware problem, It was the LCD inverter, Al changed and working again thank yous for the help guys :)
