activating an old Alltel phone

[Android Question]

I have a HTC Hero. This is an old Alltel phone and I tried getting it activated through Verizon, however they said they were weeding out Alltel phones and would not activate the phone. I love this phone and would like to get it activated somehow. Any advise please ?

Try calling around and asking some other carriers. The are quite a few carriers out there that will let you bring your own device to their service.
