Activating old T-mobile line

I have an old T-mobile sim card which I used a few years back. Is it possible to activate the line somehow on a pre-paid plan ?

I think so. Not too sure though. :-\
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me on Tmobile can step in and help.

I don't think you can reactivate an old SIM. Even if you could, performance would be poor with one that old. The phone number that was associated with it might be available though to use with a new SIM. Worth asking, if that's why you want to use that old SIM.

I recently tried to use a 3 year old SIM on a brand new 4g plan and had a ton of problems.

The solution is to get a SIM activation kit from t-mobile. I am sure they sell them in store. I got mine online for $1 and it took about 5 days to get to me. I think they are usually $6 but are "on sale" for a $1 often. Not sure.

I am guessing...but I think once the account attached to that SIM goes inactive the number associated goes back to t-mobile and the SIM is dead.

Exactly. But if the number has not been reassigned it might be possible to get it back on a new SIM.
