Actual Telephone Specs

Hi Forum, new kid on the block but real old school when it comes to smartphones. It's time to upgrade from my LG G4 and I'm at a loss when researching phones when all the emphasis seems to be on cameras, gorilla glass, etc. What about specs simply as a phone? How well does it hold and not drop calls? What is the signal range? How good is the call/connection quality? I don't mind the bells and whistles but at the end of the day, I need a phone to dial, connect and hold calls when tasked. Where do you go to find specs specific to telephone performance.

Depends on the carrier, coverage areas, model of phone.
Verizon is the biggest of them, with AT&T, Sprint, T- mobile, MetroPCS in the mix..
