ad blocking app

I wonder whether there is an app can block ads display inside of an app. (not ads from browser)

Does the phone have to be on-line when using the particular apps with ads. Usually if not connected to the internet, no ads.

The particular apps with ads only connected to the internet when they get updated.

OK set it to NOT connect to the internet when you use it, i.e. turn off mobile data and turn off WiFi. But that will stop anything else that requires internet access from working, and might be inconvenient. Else you're going to have to use a third-party ad-blocker, which requires root.

The other option is paid versions of the apps, which don't have ads in them, which I'm sure is what the apps' developers would really like you to do. Provided those are available of course.
