Ad free pandora app no cost

Came across an ad free pandora that doesn't cost anything downloaded from a third party not the app store and I was just wondering if it was safe? Installed in airplane scanned and then opened up and it works but now I'm not sure if I should be risking it. Can it be a key logger?
