Help AD-HOC support for ANDROID

Any techno freaks here??
hey,i've got my first ever ANDROID MOb(GALAXY ACE)
But AD-HOC connection from my laptop is not detected by my PHONE,infact android doesnt support adhoc(i came ti know it).

So,now...
1.is there any app for android 2.2 to detect n access AD-HOC connection?

2.is there any procedure to create an access point by laptop similiar to one that is created by the wifi router??

3,OR ANY GOD DAMN WAY TO SHARE MY INTERNET TO MY PHONE THROUGH MY LAPTOP???(over wifi or bluetoth)
 
dude..u are right connectify has several problems....

soo i hav googled a lot and finally found "mhotspot" with that my ace is detecting the wifi and also my 5800 too

NOO NEED TO INSTALL IT

works fine...and easy....

dude i did the one u had said on hotspot..
it didnt work on my laptop..
even my laptop doesnt detect the new wireless connection..
no indication that i had sucessfully done the trick with my laptop..
mine was vista..compaq hp..
huhuhuhuhuhu..
 
yeah i'd run it admin..
then i do user and pass
then start,,
then i'd tried to look at my net connections..
nothing appears..
only my wired connection appears.. T_T

are you in vista also?
 
ohh...im usig win7

btw...somewere i read,try installing "miscrosoft virtual adapter plugin"
by doing so...vista will be same as 7 (in virtualization)

hmm..thnx for infos..
i think ill try reformating my laptop to win7..
its quite long since i bought this..
maybe its time to format..hehehe..ill inform u again..thnx buddy.

Any android phone can detect if i use mhotspot?
i am using Galaxy S will it work?
Do u need any app fr phone to connect?

yeh.. well connectify ws writen by d guy who discoverd dis hidden feature in Win7 but i think his time is up ;)
Yep sure.. anytin that you find easy..

I like this one coz everytime i switch on my computer all i have to do is:

Win Key + R > netsh wlan start hostednetwork (the previously typed command remains the next time you open) > Enter

:)
 
hi.i have Galaxy Ace S5830 and use fedora linux.i create "ad hoc" wireless network in my laptop.other device same nokia 5800 detect my ad hoc wireless network but Galaxy Ace S5830 not detect it.please help me

Connectify me is a grate piece of software...
used it for almost a month.. then i bought a router.. ;)

make sure you select proper encryption like WAP2 and experiment with different ones if you are not able to detract it on your phone...
 
well I struggled with this issue for some time, here is what I learned:

ad-hoc can work on Ace, only with some of the custom ROMs, like cyanogen. Only issue is that it doesn't work great, the ad-hoc can not use security and the connection to google play doesn't work too great. If you are trying to connect to Win XP then ad-hoc is the only way to go ( at least that I have found).

if you have windows 7 then "most" people can actually run wifi infrastructure mode, such as connectify or other methods. Then Ace can run as normal wifi with security.
