Apps Ad revenue on mobile apps?

Hi guys.

I have been trying to find any stats on how much revenue a mobile app can make from a free model using ads for the monetization model?

I realise this is the same as asking how much money does an educated person make, so the results are extremely broad...but If anyone has some sort of idea or example from an app they have created it would be interesting to know.

I was more hoping along the lines of someone who has actually built an app and setup advertising on it, if they would be willing to give some figures of actual revenue made over time.

I did find an article somewhere in the depths of the net about a guy who posted about his experience, but couldn't locate it again. He said after about a month, his ad revenue was in the region of about $8 a day, and a guy who replied said he had a very basic app with an average user base and was bringing in $500 a day...so that's a really broad scope to look at.

So if anyone has some of their own stats they wouldn't mind sharing with us, that would be greatly appreciated.
