Adapting the Portable Wii as a cell phone

The portable Wii needs to be able to be used as a cell phone as well as a portable gaming device.

The Console version of Wii also needs to be able to have WiFi link adapter that will allow someone at home to link to the portable Wii gaming device where the user can then transmit live images and still images to the Wii Console for home viewing.

Not sure your idea is a good idea. Lots of things to be considered, like if the Wii has the required components; if it does, will those needed parts work with an adapter you propose. You just cannot add adapters to things like game devices and turn a Wii into a cell phone. And tere is the FCC who must absolutely must approve such devices.

The Galaxy Note is a great gaming device owing to its massive screen. And there must be a way to get the pictures from device to TV. Besides, the Note is already a phone.

Moved this Nintendo Wii U game console thread into the Lounge from Computers and IT.

I'm sure Nintendo designed the Wii U primarily as an entertainment and game console and not a cell-phone. If it had phone functionality, that would mean 3G, 4G, LTE, SIM-cards, carriers, contracts, data plans, etc. Might be possible to do VOIP with it though.

The PS Vita, on the other hand, has 3G built in for AT&T (for some models) and front and rear cameras. Should be able to Skype and whatnot with that.
