I didn't think it was the cable as much as it was the higher amp base you plug in the wall?

For all practical purposes,you're prolly right.
However,the super-long cords & some of the e'cheapo dime a dozen cords should be used for tying off garbage bags & not much else.
The car & road duo,if you will,one's better with the other being equal in quality or better..............

Hey there, new to the forums. Madraej99 is correct, the amperage of the charger makes the difference in speed. but if you are looking for a better than average cable that is rugged, try these: http://www.amazon.com/High-Speed-Ta...ywords=rugged+charging+cables#customerReviews
I have them and they have lasted much longer than anything else I have used.
