Root adb push hangs

MtnGoat

Lurker
Hi all, first post with a problem:

This is my first attempt at rooting my Droid 4 (JB). It seems that adb will do everything but push files onto the device. Running, for example, adb push pwn.jar /data/local/tmp/pwn.jar just hangs. As in nothing. Ctrl+C to kill it.

This is from Dan Rosenberg's root exploit script, but I've tried other versions of adb.exe around and they all do the same. I can shell, pull files, reboot, etc. but push to any location including the card results the same way.

Here's what I'm using:
Windows 7 Home Premium, full patched, 64 bit
What I believe to be the latest Moto drivers and can see the contents of the device and card in Explorer.
Droid 4 running 4.1.2
It is in debug mode.
It is in "Connect as Media" mode.
I had Avast! antivirus installed but removed it.
I am admin on my pc, and running the DOS window as admin.

I've been around the web a couple times and can't find anyone else reporting the same problem, and am now officially stumped.
I should also add I'm an experienced Unix and Windows admin of close to 20 years. But I'm humbled and at a loss.

Any ideas?

Chuck

Welcome to android Forums. I moved your question (thread) to the area (sub-forum) where root-related issues with the Droid 4 are discussed.

Good luck.
