add a line for $5

i have been a satisfied tmobile customer since 2004, but am switching over to sprint for the evo. however, my mother is still a tmobile customer. she is currently out of contract, but has the $59.99 unlimited talk plan (no texting or data). and my dad worked out of the house until recently, so he just had a prepaid phone for emergencies.

okay, not that i made my parents seem really old and crotchety, i have a question about the new $5 add a line offer. my mother has been out of contract for about a year and even though she is happy with her plan and phone, no one can get her to commit to a two year contract.

- if they add a line for my father, will that new line require a 2 year contract?
- will the new line require that my mother's line also sign a 2 year contract?

thanks ahead of time.

From the looks of it. The $5 per line promotion will only work on a family plan. If she isn't on a family plan then it won't work. But, assuming that you still have a spare T-mobile phone laying around for your dad, you can sign up for a Even More Plus family plan, which is the cheaper/no contract plans.
