Add Gmail account to default mail app?

Hello All,

Is there a way to add my Gmail account to the default mail app (HTC One m8)? I keep getting authentication failed message.

Hi wetnap, welcome to Android Forums.

I have my gmail accounts set up in my stock mail app on my M7, and they work fine so I would've thought the same would apply to the M8. Did you set the account details manually or let it do it auto, I did it auto. What settings have you got? I can compare them to mine if you like.



My settings are :-

Incoming:

Protocol : IMAP

IMAP server: imap.gmail.com

Security: SSL

Server port: 993

Outgoing:

Login required

SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com

Security: SSL

Server port: 465
