Apps Adding information to contact

I am writing an app and I want to be able to add a contact. I have successfully added a NAME to the Contacts database, but I have been unable to add a postal address to the contact. Can anybody provide an example of how an app may add the postal address to a contact? I am developing for Android 1.5 (cupcake), so please no references to the new ContactsContract as it does not work on 1.5 (AFAIK).
