I am a "newbie" to the Droid world so I will apologize, in advance, if this is too basic a question. I have recently converted from a long history with Blackberry and love the speed and UI of the Droid phones. I believe I have found how to do everything that I was doing on the BB on the Droid (and much more) with one exception... I cannot seem to find an easy way to search my contacts. The adding of contacts also seems awkward and I am hoping I am missing the puzzle piece I need.
Searching... Other than scrolling down through my contacts (not pretty as I have 2800+ contacts), it seems I can only search by portions of the first and last name fields. I am looking how to search for, say, everyone in company "ABC Company" or everyone in a particular group, say, "Restaurants".
Adding... The only process I have found for adding a new contact is via the People app / icon. Unfortunately, it doesn't even allow searching by name. So, the process I am using is to (a) search in "People Search" to see if the contact already exists then (b) switch to the "People" application and do an add. Is there an easier way?
