adding speakers

I am having problems locating battery powered speakers that could be fed by the earphone outlet.
Stereo would be nice but not necessary.
Anyone have any suggestions (and link) on which would be a decent solution for me?

Are you specifically looking for wired speakers? I use a Bose Soundlink with bluetooth connection. Works pretty good and the sound is great.

I had hoped to go wired and self powered. But your suggestion seems an okay way to go.
One out of two will have to do.
