Adding Taganize auto dial button to email signature

Hello All,

I have a Taganize.com account and want to use it to add an auto dial button to my email signature on my smartphone so that those reading my email have easier time to make the call to me. EG: one tap instead of 10 taps.

So far I have done the following:

1. Created Folder 'My email signature'
2. Created tag with name 'Telephone #' and Target URL using URI tel:00-country code-area code-number (FYI: 00 replaces +)
3. When I go to this tags drop down menu and click 'view details' I can see the assigned url at the bottom of the box and copied it into my email message as a simple url.
4. When the receiving party receives my email they can click it and it actually dials my telephone number from their smartphone, so thats really cool.
5. But I want to add an icon to my email signature so this Taganize hyperlink can be associated to it.
6. Does anyone know a real good client that can do this for me please?

Thank you very much!

Yes, that is correct. I would make a button like 'Call me now' and hyperlink it with the Taganize url and presto!

I'll probably do the same for sms & geo as well.

I found on playstore some email templates that the author says can be used for signatures and thus have written him to ask if html is supported.

Right now I'm open to consider all the possible options.

Thanks!

Adding a logo or image automatically in your email signature is not simple. AFAIK it cannot be done with SMS. If you're willing to do a little work, here's how it's done in email.

To add a logo or image to your signature, you need an email client capable of composing HTML email (sometimes called 'rich text'). AFAIK the only Android email clients currently with this capability are Maildroid and Enhanced Email.

Link for Maildroid: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maildroid

Link for Enhanced Email: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qs.enhancedemail

Unfortunately, EE is no longer under active development as a standalone app, it is very good. EE is so good that it has been sold to Boxer, who makes a popular iOS email app. They are working on the Android version of Boxer, supposedly combining features of Boxer and EE. Possibly when that is ready it will have the features you're looking for.

To setup including a logo or other image in your signature you must:

1. Make the image file available on a publicly accessible host - your website for example. I use Google Drive. Instructions on how to host a file on Google Drive can be found here: http://www.dalebasler.com/2014/03/get-a-direct-link-to-files-hosted-in-google-drive/
2, Create a HTML signature file that includes the image. Instructions on how to do that can be found here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Signatures_(Thunderbird). These instructions are specific to Thunderbird but the concept applies to other desktop email clients. Do NOT use Outlook to create a signature file.
3. Set Maildroid or EE to compose email as HTML.
4. Copy and paste the signature file code in the Signature box of Maildroid or EE.

It takes some work. But when done, it's pretty cool. And you can add the hosted image to your Gmail webmail (do it in Gmail Settings in a browser) or use the same HTML signature file with a desktop email client. Nice!

Thanks Crashdamage for the help on this. I eventually tried Maildroid but for one reason or another it wasn't producing the result I wanted. EG: embedded icons in the signature.

Nonetheless, I can create in the signature a simple link to follow that will go to this page:

http://www.taganize.com/signature/signature.html

As long as this url is loaded in the smart phone browser people can automatically place a call, send sms and find directions to me.

To test this theory out I added 'Uncle Sam' to see if people think the idea is cool because it's You who I want to be communicating with.......

Thanks,

JOhn
