adding the one x to my home network

surely the one x can be added to my own home network and be discoverable via my laptop (vista home premium)???

i have my bluray player and laptop linked via wifi and thought i would be able to stream media from the one x via the same system.

i understand HTC bringing out the media link for customers who do not have the set up I have but if i have to buy the adaptor i will not be a happy bunny as there is no reason the phone should not be able to stream if the system is already in place:mad:

I take it that your TV has DLNA ability, so you might be able to stream media from One X with a DLNA server app.

The Sensation has a stock app for DLNA, "Connected Media", but I've not seen it on my One X.

The One's "Media Link HD" seens to be only for using the HTC wireless HDMI adapter.

UPDATE:
You don't need that "Connected Media" app really :) :)
Go to One's gallery, select, say All videos, tap Menu and More and then Player.
Now the phone searches on the WiFi network for a player.

I think your TV should be shown as player.
