This may be a late reply but portable projectors have come a long way since they were first created.

I've bought a few of them and found them to be quite useful. The Kindle Fire HD also works well with them, if you purchase the Micro-HDMI to HDMI adapter.

I'm a fan of AAXA Technologies personally but there are tons of manufacturers available.
