Root Adoptable Storage on Marshmallow Stylo

I know there are some big disadvantages for Adoptable Storage in MM.

I ran across this and it seems the guy found a way to split the Adoptable storage as part Portable and part Adoptable.

What do you think?

See 2nd half of blog post:

Also, he posted here:

I have the MetroPCS LG G Stylo running the T-Mobile Marshmallow OTA; Rooted.

I'm hesitant but I just bought a 64gb Samsung EVO card and am thinking about trying.

It works!

(I used a 32gb card first to test in case something went wrong)

that's great. it would be nice, but since MM has the storage already merged in a unique way, i thought a bit too much. don't forget to backup prior to doing the storage on the card you'll use and (remember) never to remove or device may be corrupted depending on how files are implemented.

there is an easier way to do it. once you turn the build prop ro.lge.adoptable to true by either (1/true). you go to storage/usb, select SDCard and in the options it'll give you the ability to turn to internal. it does use entire SdCard instead of a portion.

But your adopted card becomes encrypted and unreadable in an external card reader whereas a split card doesn't encrypt the portable storage part. Could have value. Plus some stylos. like, boost/sprint/virgin can only do root access with temp root Kingroot and if somehow your phone reboots, you risk brick, so editing in adoptable storage through ADB becomes a safe way to mod.

i see what you're saying. with the temp root. i can't talk much on for i don't know. but as far as MM goes with adoptable. doing it with the phone settings is pretty safe in use. and if anything. it gives you the option to revert if you want. the system files does not go on the SDCard (they remain internal) which should make it safe to reboot, if anything should occur to SDCard, you would probably lose apps and files, but from what i see. The phone itself is pretty secure. im currently using sony 70 mb/s 32gb memory card and flawless. actually readability has improved compared to what many articles has been mentioning about lagging.

It is great for me too. My virgin 1gb/8gb phone hit the wall with MM with 500mb of internal storage left, MM said I was out of space when my 16gb sd card was empty. It wouldn't let me move any more to sd, so thanks for adoptable. I'm trying the mixed50 mod. Here's my screen:
