Adoptable storage problem

Hi Guys, I have a strange problem with my daughters phone, I am hoping one of you guys knows what to do.
It is an UMI Plus and it has a 128GB SD card installed as adoptable storage and its been working fine for last 9 months, and there was tons of free storage.

Now for some reason the storage says -121GB used of 0B and then I go into storage settings it says

Internal shared storage
-18.46 GB used of 0B
Scandisc SD card
-102 used of 0B

I can view all photos and access all apps etc but it will not allow me to save anything or take a photo. I can connect the phone to my computer with usb cable and access all the files and photos etc. (I have now made a copy of all the files and folders onto my computer)

Has anyone seen this before? and is there a soloution?

I have tried turning off/on
I have tried ejecting sd and re inserting.
I have tried ejecting, turning off and on and then re inserting.
Never at any point does the 0B value change.

Thanks
Graeme

I've ordered a new sd card (Samsung) so I hope it clears the fault but I'm not going to hold my breath.

If it doesn't fix it, would a factory reset solve it?

Try a reboot and it normally asks whether to want to use the extra memory as external or internal memory. If you are just saving data to choose external. If you remove the card it should be readable on another computer as external storage.

My money is on a dodgy SD card, and the replacement solved it. Testing on another computer would confirm it.
