Ads continue to show up after unlocking

Hi guys,

I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction/had a similar experience resolved: my work phone is showing the attached set of ads randomly when I unlock my S7.

After clicking through one of the ads I thought it might be related to Facebook, but I can’t find any specific settings where this is managed.


Have searched online for similar experiences others were having but I hadn’t seen this type of ad being covered.

I’ve run a few security scans / apps and each time has come up with nothing; I’m just wondering if anyone can help shed some light on this?

Basically you have an app that puts ads on your phone. Common culprits are CM Locker, Clean Master, DuBattery saver, and most other supposed RAM boosting or battery saving apps. Considering their apps are all useless anyway, you're better off removing them.

Recent additions to this list include Go apps (free version. You can pay to remove apps), ES File Explorer, Kingoroot, and a few others.

thanks, I'll trawl through the apps installed - I know I used to have ES File Explorer but had removed it since.

Might want to try the Block This app. You have to sideload it, but it's killed at least 99% of the ads on my phone.

Thanks for the reply; I've also uninstalled all non-essential apps and so far it looks like the ads have gone!
