ADWLauncher EX is Awesome.

More options with things like scrolling effects. Their are 8 of them making the super smooth launcherpro a thing of the past. One of the effects makes your screen transitions seem like a windmill. Others are 3D, iPhone like. Simply put: amazing.
 
I can't figure out how to change the dock. Guess either I can't or it's hidden well. Need to change the dock to complete my theme. Until then, back to launcher pro plus. I liked the animations and stuff. Bummer.

What setting are you trying to change?
 
Love it as well, only two problems.

1) The Icon Highlights are not working right. I like to go with all clear. But when I turn the alpha bar all the way to the left and click on an app it comes up Orange or Green. :(

2) Also need the option added back to hide names in the app drawer.

Put it on my girl's Droid. The options in EX make it way smoother and cooler in her Droid. I set it to the "iphonish" setting and in general settings "animations and effects" I'm using effect 5. It's like a windmill as I scroll through screens with each screen fanning down as I swipe.
 
Still greatly prefer launcher pro. I tried out EX cuz everyone was raving. Too many options and I do not think it is any better.


If you want to try smooth, load up a gingerbread port and run launcher pro on top of it. WOW is that snappy and smooth.
 
I've always been a fan of ADW. I used it when I had my Eris and loved the customization it provided. I haven't put in on my Incredible yet because I do like Sense UI.

1-tap inside the center of the color circle to select your final color choice.
2-it's in advanced settings in screen preferences.
 
Does ADW have the ability to have 15 scrollable dock icons plus swipe gestures for each?

LPP runs well right now (awaiting the total rewrite soon) but the 30 dock items is too important to me to switch unless ADW has it too

It doesn't appear to. I've checked all the settings and have been unable to find it. It does have 2 swipe gestures for each icon, one up and one down, so you can have 15 items on the dock bar but I prefer the scrollable dock of LP.
 
I was screwing around with ADW due to this thread :-) and now when I click on menu I don't see ADW settings anymore unless I hit ..more. Any idea on how to get it back on the main menu?

Never mind, I just bought ADW Ex and everything is back to normal. I really like ADW and have been using it for quite some time. Worth the 3 or 4 bucks for me, one less draft today.

#1 doesn't work. I have circle set to all black and turn alpha bar down and tap center and it comes out green. try it, even after todays update sill can not make it clear.
 
i just cannot stand the 3-button dock that comes stock on these phones now. The first thing i do with LP is change it to "Froyo Wide" which has 5 buttons.

So i set it up like

Phone | Gmail | APPS | Messaging | Internet

Can i do this with this new launcher?

Yes it can do 5 buttons. It can't do 15 like LP does, but it does do 5.
 
ADW has a hidden scrollable dock. I have all my most used apps in there. I have a swipe gesture set to make it come up. Pretty cool.
 
I just downloaded ADW launcher ex and have a problem. Does anyone else have the problem where the in call menu (where you can mute, pull up a keypad and ext....) goes away as soon as I move the phone when I make a call. Normally you put it up to your ear the screen goes dark and then you move the phone away from your ear and it comes back to the call menu. With ADW installed the phone in call menu goes dark when moved but when it comes back I am at the main home screen. The only way to pull up the in call menu is to drag the notification bar down every time I need to input anything like numbers, mute and so on. Everything works perfect when I receive calls. The call menu opens and closes when the phone is put to your ear.
 
I downloaded it yesterday and so far 'm digging it, but it *is* hard doing without LP's scrollable docks and dock gestures.

Actually the swipe gestures aren't tied to the dock. There's are a total of three gestures: swipe up, swipe down, and double tap. There aren't gestures tied to the dock icons like in LP.

When I first read this, I thought there was a second, hidden dock. It turns out that there's just an option to hide the one-and-only dock. Still pretty cool, but I prefer LPs multiple docks so I can have a static location for the app drawer in the center of the dock.

That's the exact layout I like for my dock. And I have a gesture assigned to each of them. Again, I'm really missing the gestures in the dock.

On the upside, I'm really happy they added a "Vertical 4D" option for the drawer (even if they do call it 4D instead of 3D.... Well, I guess time passes while you're scrolling so maybe that counts as 4D).

I'm using Screen Transition style 6 so the screens do cartwheels onto and off of the screen.

I also just rooted and am running CyanogenMod 6.1 - ADW EX is running very smoothly except that it takes a couple of seconds to "warm up" after waking and unlocking before animations for screen transitions and the app drawer run smoothly.
