After K.K. wired plug in does not work

After installing Kit Kat on my Maxx HD the wired ear piece plug in no longer work. Any suggestions?

I don't have your phone.

Is it possible that there is lint or dirt in the socket preventing contact? A fine pin and vacuum can get it out.
