Help After latest Samsung Note 4 Update - PdaNet longer working smoothly

I have a grandfathered truly unlimited T-Mobile 4G LTE plan. I've been using PdaNet/FoxFi for USB tethering for a couple years with no problem.

Now, since the update, PdaNet connects but now only certain websites work. Like I can go to www.google.com but ESPN.com won't work. I also cannot access my email from GoDaddy.com. When I try and open the sites that don't work I get the message:

This webpage is not available

ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

It seems that T-Mobile added something to block certain addresses.

I have a similar experience when I use betternet, the free VPN app.

Maybe the app does something to your IP address?

I assume that you are getting this message on the PC that you are tethering, right? If so then you can simply change your DNS server and you will be able to bypass this problem. One of Google's main DNS servers can be found under the address 8.8.8.8, add this to your network settings, instead of what you get from T-Mobile, and you should be back in business.

If you don't know how to do this, then let me know which OS you are working on and I'll try to guide you.

Regards,
Eric.
