Airdroid allows you to access your phone from a computer web browser. It connects over WiFi so your phone and computer need to be on the same local network. I like it because you can transfer files back and forth without involving a USB cable and you don't need to install anything on the computer, all that's necessary is the Airdroid app on your phone and a web browser on the computer (makes no difference if it's running Linux, OS X, or Windows and it doesn't matter what browser you prefer). Airdroid also allows you to remotely use your phone's camera along with some other things. You can read more details on its Google Play page: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdroid&hl=en
If all you're looking for is an app to transfer files over WiFi without all the extra features Airdroid provides, a more focused app like WiFi File Transfer works really well too: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smarterdroid.wififiletransfer
