I have rooted the generic 2.1 after reflashing, since then airplane mode has been stuck on. I have reflashed to 2.1 again and did factory wipes etc. I then used xrecovery to put in scamble 2.2 ROM and airplane mode is still stuck on? Any suggestions?
sounds like a baseband issue, what baseband is your phone on when stuck in airplane mode?
check this by going into settings and then about phone.
if it says baseband unknown you will need to flash a different baseband
find out what baseband the rom you are putting on should be working with, this info will be in the thread you got the rom from

i had to do this last night after attempting to get a rom working then i had issues gong back to my 2.2
