alarm clock app "sound off" function not working

I am using samsung galaxy J5, 2015, (android Lollipop). I have tried several alarm clock app with "sound off, vibrate only" function. But they all have sound and vibration both when the alarm clock goes off. Does anyone know why? I already set the cell phone sound off, media sound off, and the alarm clock app individual volume sound off, but that still doesn't work. The sound and vibration still go off at the same time.

How about this? Speak into your phone using the Google voice app and set an alarm, instead of using different apps for this issue. Also, go to your phone settings and check to see if you have vibration on or off.

Have you tried Alarm Clock Plus?

it does what you want.

set the tone to 'none' and set Vibrate to ON.

been using this app for over a decade, because it never fails me.
plus, it will OVER-RIDE the system sounds in case you accidently pressed the volume control to OFF. that feature was extremely valuable to me when I was a WorkAholic.
