All apps force close after doing Nandroid backup

I just used the Flashfire app to perform a Nandroid backup (that's right, a BACKUP, not a restore!). After reboot it stays on the boot animation for longer than normal and then comes to a black screen and I start getting force close after force close. Eventually the force closes finish, but there is just a black screen. The only thing I can do is to long press the power button and then the normal power menu (Restart, Airplane Mode, Shut down, etc) appears.

The phone was working absolutely fine before I did the backup. What could be the problem?

By the way I'm thinking of staying clear of Nandroid backups in the future, they have never worked for me (had a similar problem when I tried to restore one one time)... and they're supposed to be "fool proof" and "exact copies" of the phone - yeah right! Yes, I'm angry and upset - now I have to manually reinstall my entire freakin' phone just because I wanted to backup it to prevent just this scenario!

I guess that you are probably on one of the U.S. carrier minority variants of the Galaxy S5. Probably either the AT&T or Verizon carrier versions if you are having to use Flashfire. Try wiping your phone's cache partition after the backup. Sorry I cannot be of more help but I am on the international, G900F, model and use TWRP custom recovery for nandroids.
