All Google accounts to go public?

As of July 31st, all Google profiles will be public

I don't think I'm interested in +. But I really don't want Gmail, Blogger and Picasa accounts to be public.

I've used the Gmail account for years, have never had any spam. (I have a couple of Yahoo accounts that I use for sites whose privacy policy I don't quite agree with. They get the spam) Blogger is only for family's reference, and so is Picasa. I'd prefer to keep it that way.

Anyone have any other insights to this? Or maybe a way to disallow it if you don't use +?

My profile is public already anyway. If I didn't like it I'd just remove all of the information from it leaving just the name (which needn't be your own anyway!)

When Google first started Buzz, there was some conflict. I remember having to uncheck something as I didn't want Buzz either. Was Buzz automatic? Meaning if you had any kind of Google account, you had Buzz?

Also, nothing is being forced to become PUBLIC without your consent. They are simply going to require that any profiles be public in the future. If your profile is currently private, it will cease to exist - not become public.
