All is inverted in Camera app videos

Android 11 here...

Well, if people tell me that what we should expect is the same as looking in a mirror I completely disagree. Take a look at this video for instance. For me I would expect like if a camera was filming me in order to be able to read signs and text in the background when watching the video.

Since the front camera can be used to shoot videos, it should not be like a selfie

Try to read the text in the background or simply look at the mall name 0:14 LOL

Have you checked in the Settings menu of your Camera app to see if 'Inverted' was enabled? There is that mode identifier in the upper left of that video you posted. Perhaps you inadvertently tapped on it by mistake.

The Inverted you see there is the video title when I uploaded to YouTube and in camera app that comes with Android 11 there's no setting possible at least I didn't find any

Ahh, OK. So just to clarify, does this inverted problem happen only when using the selfie camera or does this also occur with the main camera in the back of your phone? Also, is this just with video or with photos too?

Have you given any thought into using a different, third-party camera app? If the default Camera app is lacking in some way, there are some really good alternatives available. I like the Open Camera app, it's Open Source, free with no ads, and a very extensive feature set buried in the app's Settings menu.

But there are a lot other really good camera apps to choose from too.

Thanks Svim, I was thinking that too about different camera apps :)

Only with the selfie cam and both videos and photos are mirrored
Well, I can live with that but as you said I'll look an alternative to see if I can selfie like being filmed as I expect it to be. Because either it's me or someone that film me it should be like a video not a mirror

Well easy, get one of those pitch black easles, or have a room filled with blackness, the text and everything will be as if you are looking at yourself by filiming and much easier to contrast, I posted in here a spell ago with my two black easles that are black, so you can read everything a la mirror and not a la camera.

LOL, filming can be anywhere outdoor with lots of signs and text.

Try to dig through the Settings menu again in your Camera app. It might use different terminology so it might be some obscure selfie camera option in its own contextual menu labeled Inverted, or Mirrored, or Inverse, or whatever.

An alternative is to add the inconvenience of using a multimedia editor/converter app to 'flip' photos and videos before sending out to others.

Does the camera app not have a Settings option called Mirror reflection, or something similar? If it doesn't, try another camera app.

The screen-shot I've attached is from a Huawei phone with the stock camera app in Harmony OS 2.0.

The thing is, manufacturers tend to provide different options in their various camera apps.
