I overslept this morning because my alarm went off but did so silently.
This was working on Sunday morning but I have tested it this morning and, although alarms do go off and the phone does vibrate if that option is ticked, the alarm is silent, which clearly isn't much use.
I am not in silent or priority mode and the volume is turned up. I am receiving notifications so the sound is definitely working.
Can anyone suggest what is wrong?

Sorry for the waste of bandwidth but you never know, someone else might have the same problem.
The issue was that somehow I had turned the down the alarm volume in the Sound & notification settings. I have no idea how as I didn't even know that such a setting existed until 10 minutes ago but that appears to have sorted the issue.
