Help All my messages disappeared

Basically I have disabled the option on my SGS that automatically deleted old messages after a certain time. But I plugged my phone into my USB last night and then I received a text. When I checked the text, all my previous texts with that person had disappeared. I then checked if my other texts with other people where there and they had all gone too?!

Sorry for the BUMP but exactly the same thing happened to me, or atleast similar,

I had it set to Delete Messages from the Bottom of a conversation after the 1,000 limit. I got two texts and BOOM - all messages/conversations gone from everyone!

Did you find a solution to this?

If the messages apps has ever crashed or force closed, there's a huge change that your messages got totally wiped, it's a bug and has happened to various other people on other sites as well.
