All of a sudden my recorded videos shake badly

I have a Galaxy S8+ and I went to my gallery to watch a short video of my dogs I shot a few days ago. To my surprise, when I hit play the video shakes. I tried playing another video I shot the same day and it has the same problem. I decided to test the camera by recording a quick video of my room. As soon as I hit record the video begins to shake. It's hard to explain it other than just by saying it's shaking. In some videos it shakes very violently. It completely ruins the video. I have gone back and played some previous videos. All my recent videos shake. Anything older than maybe 2 weeks, maybe less is fine. That timing leads me to believe it may have started after the last update. It was a pretty big update that changed quite a bit of stuff.

I navigated to"last update" in settings but it just says "There is no information about this update.", but when I navigate to "about phone" and then "software information" it says I'm running version 9.

The forum is giving me an error when I try to attach a video demonstrating the issue.

Any help appreciated! Really want to be able to use my camera to shoot video again.

You may not be able to attach a video to a post. Suggest you post it to YouTube or Vimeo or something, and then just copy the URL to it here.

As for the video problem, check the camera image stabilisation settings.

Yeh I can see that's not right, and definitely isn't just camera shake. Looks like it could be an actual fault with the camera itself in the phone, which would be repair or replacement by Samsung Service. Is it still under warranty?

You think it's a hardware problem even though it only happens while recording video? Doesn't do it when taking pictures or when the camera is open. Only when I hit record or when I play back a video.

I'll have to check about the warranty I'm not sure off hand. I have no clue what the warranty covers or how long it lasts.

Thanks.

Out of curiosity when you open your camera try giving your phone a shake before starting to record. I've had a few problems with the camera on my s8 (mainly the focus) and shaking always sorted it. Hasn't been the ideal solution for me but honestly I don't use the camera often so not much of a deal.

Also have you tried changing the video resolution? Some resolutions don't support video stabilizing. The video didn't look like it was due to a shaky hand (looked more like dropping frame rate) but you never know.
