Help All photos gone from gallery!

Methos1979

Anyone have this problem before? I took a photo with an app and processed it and now all the old photos I had in the gallery are gone. They are not really gone, they are all still in the folders where they were on the internal memory, but nothing shows up in gallery except the new photo. Anyone ever see this, and more importantly, what is the fix?!?

It might well be as simple as doing a hard reboot of the phone. With the file structure in place, they should show in the gallery just as they did before your photo edit. If that doesn't work, I'd take a hard look at the app you used to edit the photo. Perhaps it changed the attributes to the existing photos. Let us know what you come up with.
Good luck.

I've tried every type of boot I could think of, including the simulated battery pull - nothing. I'm assuming it was caused by the using the photo editor of the photo app, since I'd never used it before and it's the only thing I did differently. I've emailed the devs for this program but have not heard back. I'm quite sure they will say it's not their program's fault but it's worth a shot. I'm going to take the issue to the community as a whole and see if anyone has every seen it. I've done a search and there are cases of it happening before but on different phones and seldom with any fix that I could find. I'll keep you posted on what I find.

Try going into settings>apps>all then clear the gallery cache and defaults.

If that doesn't work, backup your photos to a computer or dropbox, then clear the gallery data.

Or, install quickpic from the market and use that as your photo viewer.

Lol - just did all that!

Clearing cache and defaults did nothing.
Clearing gallery data did nothing.
Installing Quickpic works great! Goodbye Gallery! (still annoying, though)
