Allshare "broken" since upgrade to ICS

Ever since ICS was loaded onto my GalaxyTab 10.1 (GT-P7510) I have been unable to watch videos from my media server. I have a DroboFS and have attempted to use MediaTomb and TVersity. BOTH of which worked great BEFORE ICS was loaded onto my tablet. Since the ICS load NONE of my .AVI's play, NONE of my MKV's play and NONE of my MP4's play. These used to work.

I also have found that Allshare has a mind of its own when connecting to my media server. Many times it shows nothing available, yet my PS3 and Android Phone both have no problems finding the media server and playing the video.

Anybody have a solution for this? I REALLY want to use my tablet to stream video to. It's very nice to watch a video in bed and not disturb my sleeping wife.

I apologize if this has been posted before, but I spent 45 minutes searching for this in the forums, and is typical in forum format search is essentially useless (or I have no clue how to actually use it).

All, I am able to playback using Skifta as a DLNA sharing system and selecting between MOBO Player an DICE Player for playback. I find it interesting that even though videos were encoded exactly the same way that sometimes I get audio but no video and other times I get video but no audio...therefore I switch between these players.

I'm having this exact same problem with my Tab 10.1. I updated to ICS and now Allshare doesn't work worth crap. I'm way more upset about it than you are. The only reason I bought the Tab 10.1 is because it had Allshare, like my Samsung phone does. Samsung has about the worst customer service/assistance of any company I've ever had to deal with, and I know there is just no way they are going to help us with this.

I am royally pi$$ed right now. I want to go back to Gingerbread. At least it works. I'm going to check for an Allshare update, and if I can't find one, I'm going to make life hell for Samsung. I am not in the habit of paying $400 for a device that doesn't work.

I will repost here if I find any solution.

OMG, why can't Samsung do something so simple?

Perform a factory reset. Make sure you back up your files first. After the reset, not only will Allshare work correctly, but it kicks a$$. It works more like the version on my phone.

You will get a list of network devices down the left side. You no longer have to be stuck in portrait mode while navigating your files. You can navigate the actual directories on your network devices, and there is no lag while waiting for file lists to show up. Everything is real time, and it works great.

I originally bought the Galaxy Tab 10.1 because I have a Galaxy S1 Fascinate 4G, and it has a version of Allshare very similar to this one. I purchased the Tab 10.1 because I wanted the exact same capability. I was very disappointed by the fairly crappy, although functional, version of Allshare on the Tab 10.1.

Now, with this new version, I get all the same awesome functionality I have on my Galaxy phone. In my opinion, this is the killer feature that Samsung should be advertising in their commercials. I love being able to stream audio or video from any DLNA device on my network.

I hate to gush, and I have to play around with the tablet some more and reinstall all my apps, but if everything works as well as Allshare does, I'll be very happy indeed.

To factory reset, shut the tablet off. Hold in the "Down Volume" button and then press and hold the power button. When the first thing pops up on the screen, let go of the power button but keep holding the volume button. When the small two choice menu comes up, let go of the button and press Down Volume once. This will give you a new menu. Use the volume button to select Factory Reset, and away you go.

If you have installed ICS and have not done a factory reset, then ICS is not functioning 100%.

ICS should have done this itself after installing it. They should warn you to back up before installing ICS, then install it and factory reset the unit automatically. This, IMO, would avoid many unhappy customers.

Allshare is now functioning like it should have when this tablet was new. The version it has worked, but was not very good.

No problems here with Allshare.
I use it to access files on my PC. Once I set up the PC application correctly, Allshare
on my tab works fine.
